Bill of Lading Terms & Conditions

1. Carrier Liability

The carrier is liable for any loss or damage to goods accepted for shipment, unless otherwise provided below.

2. Multiple Carriers

When more than one carrier is involved in the shipment, both the originating and delivering carriers are liable for loss or damage while the goods are in the possession of any carrier involved.

3. Recovery from Connecting Carrier

Originating and delivering carriers may recover damages from other carriers responsible for the loss or damage while goods are in their custody.

4. Exceptions from Liability

Carriers are not liable for loss or delay caused by natural disasters, public enemies, strikes, inherent defects in the goods, acts of the shipper or consignee, legal authority, or shrinkage in weight from natural causes.

5. Delay

Carriers are not bound to transport goods by any specific time or vehicle unless explicitly agreed to and endorsed on the Bill of Lading.

6. Freight Charges

Freight and other lawful charges must be paid prior to delivery unless agreed otherwise. If incorrect shipment details are provided, additional charges may apply.

7. Dangerous Goods

Shippers must disclose any dangerous goods as required by law. Failure to do so will result in liability for any damages caused by such goods.

8. Notice of Claim

Carriers are not liable for damage or loss unless written notice, including shipment details and the amount claimed, is provided within 30 days of delivery, or within nine months in the case of non-delivery.
